The internet is a blessing for many of us. It has allowed many people to earn a full-time income while living on their own terms. I think the most appealing part about working on the internet is being your own boss and having full control of your own time.
No longer do you have to worry about waking up on time to make it to your job or get home during the rush hour.
No longer will you have to worry about answering to a boss or worrying about job security.
And no longer will you have to schedule your time around your job, just so you can have time for your family.
The truth is, with the internet, you can live life with the freedom of time, money, and location. You can work when you want, where you want, and do whatever you want.
When you are working a regular job, you are trading hours for dollars. How much is your time worth to you? $10/per hour? $20/per hour? or $100/per hour?
The truth is, we can always make more money as long as we work hard, but no matter how much money we make. We can never buy back time…
Not only did I realized how little my time is being valued by my employers, but I also realized how much time I was wasting simply by working a regular job.
I remember sitting in rush hour traffic after 5’o clock and wondering to myself. I just worked a full 8-hour shift and now I’m stuck in traffic for another hour. That’s a full hour wasted and I don’t get paid for it.
The Benefits Of Working From Home
- I get to spend quality time with my family and not worry about scheduling my time around work.
- When my cousin and I go out for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, the servers are generally nicer to us because they don’t have a billion customers to deal with. We also didn’t have to wait too long for our food to come out. This is because most people are at work during those times.
- Unlike most people who don’t have a choice when it comes to driving in rush hour traffic. I do have a choice! I get to choose the prime time to leave my house to avoid wasting my time in traffic.
- My workplace is my home, so I don’t have to waste time commuting every day to and from work. Even if there’s no traffic, that’s still time being wasted on the road.
Seriously What Is Your Time Worth?
Here’s a little example from my uncle (he runs a drop shipping business)… he doesn’t like taking his car to the car dealership for a simple oil change because it costs more money as well as wasting time to drive there. Also, let’s not forget the hours he has to wait while his car is in service.
Therefore, he does his own oil change and it usually takes about an hour or two since he has to buy his own motor oil, oil filter, as well as set up and clean up time.
Sure he’s saving maybe 50 dollars per oil change, but the 2 hours he spent doing his own oil change could’ve been used to run his online business which could potentially bring in much more than the 50 dollars he saved.— He could’ve brought his laptop and worked on his business while waiting at the service department.
The point is, know what your time is worth! If you earn $1000/per hour (possible as an online business owner), you wouldn’t want to spend an hour doing your own oil change when you could pay someone $80.00 to do it.
That’s why you don’t see the CEO of Apple cleaning the bathrooms at his own office building. His time is worth too much, so he hires someone else to do it.
Start An Online Business And Make Better Use Of Your Time
You can stop wasting your time and make better use of it by starting an online business. An online business will allow you to spend your time however you want because your online business will work and make the money for you.
Stop wasting time sitting in traffic or waiting in line to dine in at a restaurant. Trust me, I’m not that experienced when it comes to building a website. In fact, I gave up when I realized how difficult it was years ago.
Fortunately, today, building a website is extremely simple. There are drag and drop builders that you can use without the need to understand complicated coding languages.
I first started after joining Wealthy Affiliate as a free member. I was very skeptical at first, but luckily, they do allow you to build 2 websites with sub-domain names (without the need to upgrade), so you can try it out first.
They’ll also provide introductory training, so you’ll know exactly what you need to do from point A to point B.
