Let’s stop wasting time and focus on how to better ourselves for the upcoming new year. This is the time of the year when we spend a lot of money!
Whether it is buying gifts for the holidays or preparing yourself to pay for the tax you owe.
Do you ever find yourself short of money because of the ever-growing expenses? I know I do, and that’s why I decided to take the initiative to create supplemental income!
The internet and technology have allowed us to create an income in ways we would never imagine! Instead of the usual jobs where you work at a physical store, you can work at home, and on your own time.
You don’t have to wake up to the regular 9-5 jobs that most of us are stuck with. Remember, nobody pays you better than you pay yourself. Without further ado, let’s get on with the methods to make money in 2018.

Ways To Make Money In 2018
#1. Affiliate Marketing: The internet has been growing year after year and became the ultimate shopper’s platform worldwide. Affiliate marketing has helped a lot of people to earn 6 to 4 figures per year!
You use your internet marketing skills to promote services and products from companies to earn commissions. For example, you can create a website about power tools!
You can blog about different power tools that you recommend and provide a direct affiliate link to Amazon for your visitors to make a purchase.
This is also known as niche marketing and you can learn more about finding a profitable niche by clicking here. When your visitor clicks on the link and makes a purchase, you will earn a percentage commission.
Obviously, there are other products you can promote and Amazon is a great affiliate program to be a part of because they are the largest internet store today.
#2. Drive for Uber or Lyft: This is a new way of catching a ride is definitely affecting services like taxi, but innovations are always taking over. The next best thing will always replace the old news, so don’t be surprised if Uber or Lyft will eventually outlast the conventional taxi. They do have minimum requirements, so make sure you check that out before applying. Some drivers are earning thousands per week!
#3. Be a Food Courier: Okay, I am not asking you to apply at a restaurant to deliver food. I’m asking you to deliver food to all sorts of restaurants in your city! Yup, instead of waiting for delivery at a physical store and earning peanuts. You can be doing the same type of work, but getting paid more.
This is similar to Uber and Lyft, as a matter of fact, Uber has its own courier service known as UberEats. There are others like Postmates, Amazon Flex, so the opportunity is endless! You don’t have to worry about talking to customers while driving them like Uber and Lyft. However, you should still communicate with your customers through text messages to let them know you’re on the way(:
#4. Sharing is Caring: Do you have big ticketed items just sitting at home just collecting dust? Why not use them to collect money instead? There are services online that allow you to share your belongings to those who would love to borrow it. Maybe it’s for an occasional event or a product test before they actually buy it themselves.
Kitsplit is a company that allows you to share your cameras and earns money when you’re not using it. You can also use an app on your phone called Peerby to borrow and share your belongings with people near you! You might not be able to make money with this app, but saving money is better than spending money.
Did you know you can share your knowledge and offer subscription base plans for your visitors? Yes, you can even share your knowledge to earn money online. For example, you can share things like how you managed to lose weight, gain a six-pack, or successfully complete your general education with a set of plans. You can learn more by checking out Subhub.
#5. Earn Cash Back: Did you know you can earn cash back for eating, booking hotels, shopping, mobile services, etc? The name for this app is known as Dosh. You don’t need to scan barcodes, take photos of receipts, mail-in rebates, promo codes, and in-store fumbling! All you need is a valid credit or debit card to get started.
#6. Negotiate Your Recurring Bills: Don’t worry, you don’t have to spend hours on the phone to negotiate your existing bills. The app known as Trim will do it for you! It is free to sign up, but they do charge you a percentage of the savings they negotiate for.

#7. Investing in Bitcoin: Although I don’t really recommend this if it’s going to cost you the majority of your bank account. Bitcoin has shown an incredible increase in its market value over the past couple of months, but nobody knows when it can or will crash. I’ve even heard people are selling their homes to invest in this crypto-currency. Will this be the next form of currency to replace the dollar bill?
#8. Earn with Games and Paid Surveys: Are you always on your cell phone searching for videos to watch and playing games? Well, if that’s you, then the following apps will allow you to do just that and earn money at the same time. My favorite one is known as Swagbucks and the other one is FeaturePoints. PS. #9. Drop Shipping: You can earn money by selling products owned by a third party. When a customer makes a purchase on your website, the transaction is actually done with the third party, so you don’t have to deal with shipping and handling of the merchandise.

#10. Blog and Monetize with Google AdSense: This method is probably the easiest and the most popular. If you have a passion for what you write, then this method should be a piece of cake.
This kind of correlates with affiliate marketing, but focuses mainly on passive income through pay-per-click advertisements. When someone clicks on an advertisement by Google, you will earn a percentage of what the advertiser paid for the ad.

#11. Publish E-Books: I’m not a good writer myself, so this wouldn’t work for me. However, if you have a passion for writing, earning money for publishing e-books can become a reality. You don’t need to be a BIG name writer, as long as you have a passion for writing. Check out Amazon Self Publishing if you are interested in publishing and selling e-books.
#12. Become a Freelance Writer: Are you a creative writer? You can apply for a freelance writing job and earn money for writing poems, e-books, or novels! The good news is, you can work on multiple projects at the same time and working in the comfort of your home.
This is a great way to make money, but finding work can be a bit challenging. I just did a Google search on freelance writer jobs and it provided me with approximately 6.3 million results.
#13. One man’s junk is another man’s treasure: Do you have things at your house that you no longer use or need? If you do, you should start selling off those items on eBay and you will be surprised by how much money you can generate. It is better than collecting dust right?
#14. Get funded with Kickstarter: Similar to GoFundMe, but in my opinion better. Do you have a project that will change the world? Well, it’s easy to come up with ideas, but it’s not so easy to come up with the money to execute the plan.
Kickstarter has allowed people like me and you to create projects that we wouldn’t normally be able to due to lack of funds. If you are a small business with a plan to create a project with proof, you can get funding from people who support it.
#15. Be A YouTuber: If you are creative and love recording and editing videos, YouTube can be the gateway to your success. There are lots of successful YouTubers in every genre.
You can make a lot of money whether you’re a gamer, product review specialist, or an actor. YouTube is a very popular platform, a source of entertainment for the most part of the world! If you ask your friend where he or she watches videos. They will most likely say, YouTube.
#16. Develop Mobile Apps: Do you like programming and coding? Smartphones have taken over and most users who access the internet are using their smartphones.
It’s no surprise that developing mobile apps can earn you a full-time income if your application becomes a MUST have on a smartphone. For example, Clash of Clans is a mobile strategy video game developed and published by Finnish game developer known as Supercell. They profited nearly 1 billion dollars in 2015!
#17. Find a Regular Day Job: This is on the bottom of the list for a reason. You wouldn’t be here if you’re satisfied with your regular day job. However, it is still a legitimate way to make money in 2018, so I can’t leave it out of this list.
My Final Thoughts
There are many ways to make money in 2018, but not everything is suitable for you. This is why I generated a list with multiple methods.
Unfortunately, I don’t have a method that can make you money fast with minimal effort. If such a method exists, it’s probably some sort of get-rich-quick scheme that’s designed to get-you-poor-quickly.
Remember, if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is too good to be true, so beware of potential scams on the internet. Personally, I am working as an affiliate marketer because it doesn’t cost me an arm and a leg to start.
