Whether you are an experienced or a new internet marketer. The journey to making money online is definitely not a smooth and easy path. You’re going to run into countless speed bumps and potholes along the way. It is up to you whether you want to stop and just give up or continue to persevere through.
When I first told my family about my new venture, they were shocked. Jaws were dropped because they thought I was going insane. Many insisted that I wake up and forget about this poisonous dream. Did I listen? Heck no, because I know this venture will lead me to great success.
I wasn’t upset though because there are many scammers online. There are many false claims designed to empty your bank accounts. After all, they are looking out for my best interest. However, I’ve made up my mind and I will not allow anyone or anything stop me from pursuing the ultimate lifestyle.
In this article, I will go over obstacles that you will have to overcome and how you can overcome it with some motivation. With these tips, you will be more successful at making money online. Without further ado, let’s dive right in!
Obstacles During Your Journey To Making Money Online
Obstacle #1. Family and Friends Will Tell You To Give Up
As I stated earlier, my family was not very supportive because they didn’t think it was actually possible to make money online. Chances are, your friends and family members will react the same way.
Don’t get upset and just tell them to not worry. If you currently have a job, don’t quit because making money online is a marathon. You will not see results right away. It can take months or maybe even years to start earning a full-time income.—You can make money online while working a full-time job.
Obstacle #2. You Will Tell Yourself To Give Up
I remember spending months producing content and trying to improve the overall design of Smart Affiliate Hub. Expecting results from my hard work almost caused me to completely give up.
I started asking myself the following questions:
- Can you actually make money online?
- How come nobody is visiting my blog?
- Am I wasting time trying to produce content with little to no results?
- Should I try something new? This is taking too long.
This happens to everyone and I’m sure you will feel the same way. Don’t feel discouraged though because Facebook didn’t become a multi-billion dollar business overnight. As long as you accept the fact that you will not make money right away, you will do much better.

You Are Actually Spending Your Time Wisely
Ask yourself this, what would you be doing if you’re not trying to make money online? This is an important question, so please take a few minutes and think about it.
For me, if I wasn’t trying to make money online. I would be watching television, playing Grand Theft Auto V online on my PlayStation 4, or hanging out with friends.
None of those are money producing activities. That’s why I don’t think making money online is a waste of time as long as you’re doing it the right way.
Are you willing to sacrifice some television or gaming time to make money online? If you are, then you are not wasting your time. You are actually spending your time wisely.
Remind Yourself Why You Want To Make Money Online
During the beginning of my journey, I knew exactly why I wanted to make money online. You should do the same! What you need is a purpose and a goal and that’s going to drive you toward success.
For example, why do you want to attend a good college? So you can get a better job.
The same applies to make money online.
For me, I wanted more time to live life the way I want to live it. With a regular day job, I was restricted to money, time, and location. No matter how much effort I put into my job, I was restricted by how much money I can actually make.
When my family talks about going on vacation, I usually stay behind because I have to stay and work otherwise I wouldn’t be able to afford the bills the following month.
When my girlfriend talks about moving to another country, I hesitate to say yes because I’m afraid that I wouldn’t be able to find a job there.
I’m hoping with the power of the internet, I would be able to live life with the freedom of time, money, and location. This can be done because my blog is basically a 24/7 consultant that works for me. All it takes is my input such as content production and marketing.—The feeling of making money while I’m sleeping or doing other activities still gives me goosebumps.
In Conclusion
Put a thick skin over your body and leverage the negative feedback. Yup, don’t ignore it! Instead, you should use it as a motivation to succeed. You’re basically proving them right if you give up.
When people tell me that I can’t do it. I’ll go right ahead and do it! In the end, what you do will only affect your life, not theirs. Do you want to be like everybody else and just work a mediocre job? If that’s what you want to do then more power to you.
