In short, a sales funnel is designed to turn your potential customers into actual paying customers. For example, people who are browsing are generally listed on the top of your sales funnel. The people who are looking at your products are right underneath the browsing customers.
When someone selects a product or multiple products and clicks the “Check Out” or “Buy Now” button, he or she is at the end of your sales funnel.
The idea behind a sales funnel applies to local retail stores, online stores, etc. If you’re trying to sell something, then chances are, you’ll need a sales funnel like ClickFunnels.
The Origin Of Sales Funnels
The idea behind a sales funnels originated from an actual funnel! Pretty cool right?
The next time, you do your oil change, pay attention to when you refill your motor with oil. What happens when you don’t use a funnel to fill up your freshly drained motor? — You are more likely to leak and waste excess oil. Whereas, if you utilize an actual funnel, it ensures that the oil will not go to waste and leak out.
The same concept applies to the sales funnel. To give you a better idea, I will use an example:
- The Motor Oil = My Customers
- The Motor = My Business
- The Funnel = The system I use to ensure that my customers make it to my business.
In order to create a sales funnel, you must first provide an incentive for your customers. First, your website should be designed to cater to your audience group.
Next, you need a way to collect their emails, so you can promote things to make money.
For me, I offer a free course on how to start a blog for affiliate marketing to all of my subscribers who are interested in learning how to make money online.

The Steps of a Successful Sales Funnel
Step #1: A landing page is a great way to collect emails. You can view an example of mine to get an idea of what a landing page is. Not everybody will subscribe, but those who do will be moved to step #2.
Step #2: Once you’ve successfully collected their emails, you can now develop a relationship with your subscribers. People buy from people, so you want to be as helpful as you possibly can.
If they send you an email, do yourself a favor and answer them to the best of your ability. Keep in mind, people at this stage are considered prospects.
Your goal is to eventually get them to take action. It can be a product or service that you promote. Once the subscriber has made a purchase, he or she will be moved to step #3.
Step #3: Subscribers on Step #3 are people who are highly interested, made a purchase, and will likely come back for more information.
The Success Of Your Sales Funnel Is A Numbers Game
Can you make money fast with a sales funnel? The answer is yes and no.
The reason why I can’t tell you exactly is that it depends on how much traffic you’re getting and how many people are subscribing. Not everyone will become a subscriber, the more traffic you have, the more people subscribe.
If you get 100 subscribers per month and only 1 subscriber that actually takes action, your chance is 1 in 100. Now if you have 1000 subscribers per month even with the odds of 1 in 100, you will have 10 subscribers earning you 10x more money.
This is why I always bring up writing high quality and informative content. You want to be an authority in your niche, so people can put their trust in you.
Before you wonder why you’re not making money. First, ask yourself what you’ve done for your visitors and subscribers. Why should they subscribe to your newsletter? What makes you so special?
An AutoResponder Is Required
