These are affiliate programs that sell items that cost $1000 or more! The benefit of promoting high ticket items is, you don’t have to sell a lot to make a lot. Is it harder? Well, not if you are doing everything right.
What I mean by doing it right is, providing value to your audience. The way you promote a high ticket item and a low ticket item are pretty much the same.
Continuity Affiliate Programs
These are affiliate programs that offer continuous commissions per month. You can find these continuity affiliate programs from subscription-based vendors such as a web hosting service.
Let’s use an example with web hosting service here:
- When you refer someone to a web hosting service, he or she will have the option to select a plan. The plans are usually monthly or annually based, so whatever money the web hosting service makes, you take a percentage.
The only way you stop getting paid is when your referral opts out of the service. You will continue to earn a commission as long as they continue to pay for the monthly or annual subscription.
You Need To Diversify Your Approach
Many affiliate marketers are not making good money because they tend to lean toward one or the other. From my experience, I notice a lot of affiliate marketers promote low ticket products because most people can afford to buy it.
However, it is not true at all. Go ahead and ask a real estate agent if it’s harder to sell a 5 million dollar house versus a 1 million dollar house.
People who are looking for a 1 million dollar house are usually going to require some sort of finance. A 5 million dollar house buyer will usually pay it off outright.
A low ticket and high ticket item just cater to different types of people.— Same as buying a house!
Contrary to those who promote low ticket products, there are people who focus only on high ticket items. Their belief is, why go working for pennies when you could be making thousands of dollars.
I Recommend Using All 3 Types Of Affiliate Programs
I recommend that you take advantage of all of them. Personally, I promote low ticket products that offer value to my audience. It’s not so much for the money because the commission is too minuscule. However, it helps me build a relationship with my audience.
How come the Apple Store is able to sell a thousand dollar products year after year? It’s because they’ve built a relationship with their customers. Their customers trust them with their money and that’s what you need to do.
While you’re promoting the low ticket items, you can also promote the high ticket items. Some will buy it, some will not! That’s just the way it is.
The good news is, once you’ve established yourself as an authority and built a relationship with your visitors. They are more likely to take action when a high ticket item is presented to them.
The continuity affiliate programs are what’s going to pay me month after month with more consistency. As long as they continue to pay for their subscription, I will continue to get paid.
It’s much more consistent when you start earning from continuity programs versus low and high ticket products.
The Secret Formula To Success
You don’t want to promote products simply for the money. You want to promote products that you know can offer value to your audience. That’s how you build a relationship and repeat business.
Just because a low ticket product is inexpensive, doesn’t mean it’s bad. There are good and bad products for low, high, and continuity. Your goal is to be selective with what you promote because choosing the wrong one can diminish your reputation.
Do you remember the last horrible experience you had at a restaurant? Did you ever return to that restaurant?
The same applies to your business except on the internet, any type of publicity whether good or bad can and will spread like wildfire.
