Having A Job Is Not As Stable As You Think

Growing up, we were given a roadmap to a safe and secure life. It all started way back when you first attended school. You were conditioned to believe that earning a higher education will ultimately decide your future.

After graduating from school, you’re probably going to land yourself an entry-level corporate job where you’ll be competing with your fellow colleagues to climb the ladders to higher positions.

What’s next? Well, after increasing your salary, you can now afford to own your own home and be able to support yourself and your family. That is in the perfect world of course… but we don’t live in the perfect world.

I am not in anyway discouraging you from getting a higher education. Having a degree certainly grants you with more job opportunities compared to someone who doesn’t have a degree. In this article, I will explain to you why I believe having a job is not as stable as you think!

There’s No Such Thing As Job Security

Even after years of working toward a higher education, going through unpaid internships to gain the experience needed. You can lose your job tomorrow if you employer decides that they don’t need you anymore.

Is it unfair? Yes, but there’s absolutely nothing you can do. (assuming your employer has a good reason to fire you).

Once you lose your job, you’ll have to put yourself back in the pool of unemployed scholars. And even if you get the job, the same can happen again because you have no control. The point is, your finances should not be under the mercy of someone else.

Let me you ask you this… would you fire yourself? I hope the answer is no. ???? However, in order to even have this option, you’re going to need to have your own business. You need to be your own boss.

I know what you’re thinking… Eric, you must be out of your mind… running a business will require 100s of thousands of dollars! It’s true, if you want to start a bricks and mortar business that is.

The kind of business I’m talking about is done online which means you can forget about the cost of renting a location and hiring hourly employees. I’m talking about is running your own online business!

The Entry Cost Is A Lot Less For Online Businesses

Let’s face it, in order to make money, you must first spend money. To land yourself a regular job that pays a handsome salary, you must first invest years in school. In the beginning, you have the option of going to a public or a private school. Once you’re in college, you’ll have to pay for your tuition and other expenses. Even after all expenses aside, you’re still not guaranteed a job!

An online business on the other hand will not cost you thousands of dollars to get started. All you really need to begin with is a domain name and web hosting, so you can start branding yourself. For less than $100.00 per year, you can have a fully operational online business today.

Now I am being very general when talking about an online business. With a domain name and a web hosting service provider, you can become any of the following: Freelance writer, Affiliate Marketer, eCommerce, Blogger, etc. Here are 10 ways to make money from home that you might be interested as an online business owner.

Online Business Requires A Change In Mindset

Just to be fair, I want to talk about why starting an online business requires a change in mindset. You see, even though a job is the worst way to make money, it’s probably the most consistent way. The formula is quite simple, you multiple the amount of hours you work and how much you get paid per hour.

Now if you have that same mindset for running an online business, you’re going to fail miserably and here’s why!

  • You don’t get paid per hour or earn a consistent salary.
  • Your income can vary from day to day, month to month, and year to year.
  • You’re probably not going to earn a dime during your first 6 months to a year!

Sounds like a horrible gig right? Starting to wonder why people would even bother to start an online business? Well, here’s why it’s worth it.

  • You can diversify your income stream. Instead of getting paid by one person or one company, you can get paid by multiple people or companies.
  • You can work under your own terms which means more time with your family and friends.
  • You can make money passively in your sleep, on vacation, or anywhere else in the world.
  • Your work online can pay you over and over again without further input.
  • Your earning potentials are limitless because you are the boss of yourself.

In Conclusion

Now that you’ve learned about starting an online business, we can safely say that working a regular job might seem like the logical roadmap to take at first, but it’s definitely not a stable path to continue on if you really want to be successful in life.

There are too many outside factors that you cannot control. Imagine if you’re the main source of income for your family. What would happen if you suddenly lost your job? Would it devastate your family financially?

If the answer is yes, then you should really consider starting an online business while the make money online train is in full throttle!
