In response to a reader’s email, I will be reviewing a platform called Crowd Rising. It claims that you can make money by generously donating to others. In all honesty, this doesn’t really make sense at all, but like other products.
I will give it the benefit of the doubt. So here’s the question: Is Crowd Rising a scam?
In this article, I will dive deep into Crowd Rising. I will provide you with a detailed review to help you make an informative decision. The donation aspect of this platform raises a huge red flag. I feel like they are using the term donation to make sound honest and legitimate. Without further ado, let’s get started!

What Is Crowd Rising?
Crowd Rising is a platform that provides what they call peer-to-peer direct funding. Basically, you’re supposed to donate to someone in need (stranger) and in return, you’ll also get donations sent to you. In order to increase your earnings, you must also increase your donations (money gets passed on to your sponsor). Just in case you’re wondering who’s going to pay you.
It’s your recruits… If this doesn’t sound like a pyramid scheme, then I don’t know what does. If you want to make lots of money, you must continue to recruit people. In many parts of the world, this is considered a cash gifting scheme (illegal) and can get you in a lot of trouble. Now that you understand the fundamentals of how Crowd Rising works.
Let’s continue to dive deeper! So far, I am not happy with what I’m finding out from this so-called peer-to-peer direct funding platform.
What To Expect If You Sign Up For Crowd Rising
As you can see from the image above, you are required to upgrade your account within 3 days. Otherwise, your account will be deleted. There are different membership levels and you’ll start off with level 0. The level-up system is based on 5 who refer 5. As you level up, you’ll grow exponentially.
Here’s how it works: First, you must donate $20.00 to reach level 1. (The money goes to the person who referred you to Crowd Rising. Afterward, you’ll have to recruit 5 more people (each of those 5 will pay you $20.00 which sums up to $100.00). Or, if your recruit gets more than 5 people under them and you have an open spot.
That recruit will get spilled over to you! Keep in mind though, at level 1, you can only have 5 people under you. So if you want to advance, you’ll have to level up again to level 2. To reach level 2, you must now donate $40.00 and this will allow you to have up to 25 members ($40.00 paid to you by each member) which changes your earning potential to $1,000.00. This will continue until you reach level 10. Check out the compensation plan below:
In order to receive money from your referrals, you must be at the required level otherwise, the money will get sent to the people above you (assuming they are at the appropriate level to receive that level of payment). If you want to reach level 10, you must first spend $3,310.00!
As enticing as it sounds, you can certainly make lots of money, but if you’re unable to recruit people into the platform or if the government decides to interview and shut them down (very likely to happen since it’s considered a pyramid scheme), you’re going to be out of the money that you initially invested.
Without an actual product or service, you’ll find it extremely difficult to get people to join just to recruit people for what is obviously a pyramid scheme.
Can You Really Make Money With Crowd Rising?
Absolutely, but the risk is extremely high and not a sustainable method to make money online. Unfortunately, the platform is not effective if you or your recruits stop recruiting.
Unless you’re already an influencer with lots of people who trust you. You’re going to struggle to get people to sign up especially if they’re spending $20.00 for a hope to make money.
As an internet marketer, I understand the importance of building a customer base (email list), but I also understand how difficult it is to do so.
If you take a look at their info & tutorials page, you’ll notice that they have lots of information about how Crowd Rising works, but it doesn’t train you on how to recruit people. After all… their business model is based on recruiting, so it’s a bummer that they don’t teach you that skill.
Is Crowd Rising A Scam?
Crowd Rising is 100% a scam. The founder hides the true colors of the platform by disguising it as a generous donation website. I honestly can’t see how this is even donations when you’re actually getting your money back plus more.
I don’t think that’s how donations work haha. Also, I noticed a few disturbing pictures on their homepage:
Not going to lie… it’s disgusting… basically, Crowd Rising is using these pictures to make you feel like your donations are going toward something that will change the lives of others. In actuality, your money is going toward others who are also looking to make money online, not really people in need.
And that’s why I don’t recommend Crowd Rising to anyone! If you really want to make money online, you’re better off building your online business. One that you can make money while helping others in the process. If you want to learn more about it, please continue reading.
