For those who don’t know about Pat Flynn, he is the founder of Smart Passive Income. Arguably, one of the few successful online entrepreneurs to be making money online today.
Not going to lie, when I first visited his website, my jaws dropped. Pat’s website looks absolutely stunning! It was easy to navigate and the design can only be described with one word, “CLEAN“.
Okay enough fanboying… today in this article, I want to discuss the programs that Pat offers.
If you take a look at his website, you can instantly tell that he’s been in this industry for quite some time, but is his program any good? Judging by his blog posts, Pat offers great content for free, but what about his program? Is it worth it? Well, you’re about to find out.
In this brutally honest review, I will go over Pat’s program and see if you can really earn a smart passive income. Without further ado, let’s get started!

Ratings: 4 out of 5 stars – Pat is clearly legit and has made a name for himself in the make money online industry. However, I can’t give him a full 5 out of 5 stars because I believe his training is high quality, but the price point and the structure of his program are definitely not beginner friendly.
Smart Passive Income In A Nutshell
Unlike most product reviews I’ve done. Smart Passive Income is basically a niche website with a blog that happens to also promote his own products.
To get started, you can simply click his “start here” button located on his header menu. This will take you to a page where he talks about how to make money online and also give you an idea of the different options out there.
Some of these options are free video, podcasts, and affiliate products where he will earn a commission if you buy. It’s basically an all-in-one how to get started jammed in one page.
Note: You don’t have to buy anything. Pat provides a lot of free content that teaches you the art of email marketing, affiliate marketing, blogging, podcasting, and more.
However, if you want a more comprehensive course with everything put together for you. It’s going to cost a pretty penny! Like I said, the courses are not for everyone, especially for a brand new beginner. But I’m going to leave the decision making up to you.
The 5 Course Meal At Smart Passive Income By Pat Flynn
Course Meal #1: Will It Fly? (Free)
To help you understand the meaning of “will it fly?” It basically means “will it work?” In this course, you will learn how to brainstorm business ideas that actually work.
First, you are given 2 preview lessons and once you get started, there are 9 chapters worth of content for you to digest. There is no time limit for each lesson, work at your own pace!
Personal tip:
You look at Uber and Lyft, they are solving a big problem; transportation. That’s why they are so successful today! If you want to be successful, you have to be the solution to a problem.
Course Meal #2: Build Your Own Brand (Free)
I can totally relate to this course! Previously when MOBE was shut down by the FTC, many people who didn’t build their brand are now struggling to make money online again. This is because they spent most of their time and money building MOBE’s brand.
In this course, you will learn how to get started the right way and that is building a brand of your own. Basically, you will learn the step-by-step process by first building a website.
Tip:
By building a brand, you can pretty much promote anything you desire as long as it helps your audience. Let’s say run an online business that helps people find cheap web hosting. You wouldn’t want to strictly promote one particular company because what happens if they go out of business?
Course Meal #3: Smart From Scratch ($249.00)
In this course, you will learn how to start from scratch, the smart way. If you are completely new to this business, you will learn how to choose a niche, build a website, build an email list, and eventually generating sales. You can certainly learn all of this for free at Wealthy Affiliates.
However, if you want to learn from the person who has actually made it. You’re going to have to spend a bit of money and in this case, $249.00. Do I think it’s worth it? I think so, but for others, it might be too much money.
Course Meal #4: 1 2 3 Affiliate Marketing ($699.00)
Well, if you thought the course meal #3 was expensive. You wouldn’t want to bother with this one haha! However, I think this is one of the biggest money makers and definitely something I am familiar with.
I really like the method Pat teaches because it’s not your typical hit and run marketing. It utilizes the power of email marketing to get repeat sales. Basically, in this course, you’ll learn how to collect emails through your website, blog, or lead capture page. Once you’ve generated a strong list, you can then promote affiliate products to earn commissions.

Course Meal #5: Power Up Podcasting ($799.00)
Finally, the power up podcasting meal! At $799.00, you’ll not only get the course, but you’ll also get the dessert. I’m going to be completely honest with you. I know absolutely NOTHING about podcasting. I have not tried it myself, but I have heard of many people becoming a success from podcasting.
Basically, podcasting enables you to get your brand heard. It’s also a great way to meet new people and share your knowledge. When people join a podcast, they assume the person running it is the expert. So even if you’re not quite an expert, people will assume that you are!
My Final Thoughts On Smart Passive Income
When choosing a new business idea. You should always try and select something that solves a problem. It’s all about supply and demand. For example, nobody likes to work at a regular 9 to 5 job, but you do need money. So my business idea is how to help these people make money from the comfort of their home. Any brand should have a website and a blog! There is a fast way and there is a cost-effective way that yields better results. You can spend money on advertisement to send traffic to your lead capture page or you can build a readership. If you can produce out of this world content, people will naturally opt-in to your email list.
I really liked Pat’s website and the programs he offers. It’s definitely a lot of money, but you shouldn’t put a price on investing in yourself. If you really can’t afford to shell out $1,747.00, you can check out Wealthy Affiliate.
Most of the fundamental training is free and even if you decide to continue your education. They offer a $49.00 monthly membership that unlocks everything.
Even if you can’t afford to spend the money, I would still check out Pat’s free programs (Will It Fly and Build Your Own Brand). I mean why not? It’s free!
