How To Create A Blog For Free
Step #1. Find a Niche for your Blog
Before starting a blog, you must figure out what you want to write about. This is the most important step unless you want to write a lifestyle blog for your family and friends.
Personally, my blog is about how to make money online and you are not limited to just that. A niche can be pretty much anything! What I do recommend though is, target a niche that you are passionate about. You don’t need to be an expert because you will be learning as you grow with your blog.
You see, an expert is just a perception. If you know ONE thing more than the other person. You will be considered an expert.
For example, someone who changes motor oil for a living. If you don’t know how to change motor oil, you will view the person changing the motor oil as an expert.

Step #2. Brainstorm A Name For Your Blog (Domain)
In my opinion, the name of your blog needs to be well thought out before finalizing. Once your blog is popular, you wouldn’t want to change your name because your audience knows your blog by its name. Also, this is important for choosing a domain name.—Enter the domain name on the form provided below on Step #3.
I chose Smart Affiliate Hub because my objective is to teach others how to be self-employed working online. I wouldn’t want something like Makemoneyonlineandbeselfemployed.com
Step #3. Start A Blog
Now that you have an idea of what you want to write about and have selected a few names. The next step is to get started! There are many options when it comes to starting a blog, such as Blogger.com, Wix.com, WordPress.com, etc.
I started my blog by signing up for Wealthy Affiliate. The reason why is that they use WordPress as the platform to build your website. It also includes website hosting as well as state of the art training for beginners who would like to make money online.

Step #4. Install A WordPress Theme
WordPress allows you to customize your blog in many ways. One of which is known as a theme. The default theme provided by WordPress is nothing to brag about, so I always recommend my readers to select a theme that fits their personality and niche.
When choosing a theme, you want to consider the design, usability, and stability. It needs to be functional, yet elegant. It’s going to be the first impression that you give to a reader.

It’s quite challenging at first when you don’t know what to write about. What I like to do is watch YouTube videos and read blogs from other websites that are related to my own. You see, understanding what your competition is doing will benefit you greatly.
People don’t become successful out of thin air. They must be doing something right! If you want to be successful, you want to learn from people who are already successful. I don’t know everything, so when I publish a new blog, it’s information that I learned, but explained in my way.
Step #6. Find Images For Your Blog Posts
A picture is worth a thousand words. This is very true when it comes to blogging! I’ve seen blog posts where the author didn’t include a single picture. It didn’t look very appealing for me to read because it looked like a giant blob of text. I can understand why though!

Step #7. Optimized Your Content For SEO By Researching Keywords
Having good content means absolutely nothing if nobody is going to read it. The best traffic to monetize is actually free! However, because it’s free, it’s also harder to gain. That’s why a keyword research tool is essential to becoming a successful blogger.
Keywords are text inputted into the search engines. When you search for “how to make money online for free,” that is considered the keywords. A keyword research tool will provide you with statistics on the difficulty of ranking on the first page as well as how many searches are made per month.
