Do you want to learn how to make money online by leveraging the WordPress platform? Well, you’ve come to the right place!
Smart Affiliate Hub is powered by WordPress. It has allowed me to leverage the internet and make money online while working from home.
However, there are other ways to make money online by leveraging the WordPress platform. In this short article, I will reveal a few methods, so you can start making money from the comfort of your home.
Before we proceed, I just want to make it clear that the results of your income will vary depending on your competition and how determined you are a success. You will also need to have some knowledge of coding for certain methods.
By the way, what I’m about to go over will not get you rich fast. They are legitimate ways to make a profit using the WordPress platform. Without further ado, let’s get started!
How To Make Money Online By Leveraging The WordPress Platform
#1. Start A Blog And Monetize It
Starting a blog is probably the most affordable way to make money online. However, it’s certainly not the easiest way due to the ease of entry.
You can start a blog very easily with WordPress, but if you want to make money with your blog, it does require effort. Similar to anything in life such as losing weight. If you put in the effort, you will eventually see results.— Most people fail to make money through their blog because they give up too soon.
Starting a blog alone will not make you money. However, it is the core to your success! Blog posts provides information and value to attract people to your blog.
In the end, you’ll need a way to monetize your blog in order to earn an income, so how do you do that?
Well, back in the days, people relied heavily on Google AdSense to monetize their blogs, but there are more effective ways to make money online through blogging today.
You can become an affiliate marketer. A person who promotes products from others. When your reader makes a purchase, you earn a commission.—It’s that simple!
In fact, most of the money that I earn here on Smart Affiliate Hub is through affiliate marketing.
#2. Create Themes for WordPress (Requires Coding Knowledge)
By default, the themes you receive for when you sign up with WordPress is not the best. That’s why they have premium themes in the market for consumers like you and me to purchase.
If you are great at designing and coding, you can create themes for others and sell them on your very own website or at established theme marketplaces such as ThemeForest, Creative Market, Mojo Themes, WP Eden, Theme Snap, etc.
#3. Create Plugins for WordPress (Requires Coding Knowledge)
As a WordPress user myself, plugins are essential. It adds extra features that you don’t normally get with the standard WordPress platform.— Just imagine this, WordPress is the open source and the plugins are your tools to enhance it.
There are thousands of plugins available in WordPress and the demand is always there. As long as you can create something for the greater good; people will want it.
There are exceptions to this though! There are excellent coders who never uses a single plugin and codes everything on their own. But for the average user, plugins are essential.
#4. Become A WordPress Consultant
Do you consider yourself a WordPress guru? If you do then becoming a WordPress Consultant might not be a bad gig! You can offer consulting services to people who are in this industry.
My recommendation is to offer free services for your first few customers to build your portfolio. You can then ask for real feedback and testimonials to build credibility.— If done correctly, you can make a career out of it and earn a full-time income working from home!
There are many WordPress consultant on platforms like Fiverr. Besides advertising yourself on Fiverr, I also recommend creating a business WordPress blog for yourself.
This helps increase credibility and allows your potential buyers to see what you’re all about.
#5. Offer Content Writing Services
Are you a good writer? If the answer is yes, you can offer content writing services to website/blog owners who want to expand their business, but wants to focus on other aspects of their business.
Similar to becoming a WordPress Consultant, it is ideal to build a portfolio (through a blog) with the names of your customers as well as their website. This gives your potential customers a chance to view your work before investing in you.
#6. Setup WordPress Blogs For Others
There are many people who would love to start a blog but lack the knowledge to do so. That’s why I recommend Wealthy Affiliate to the majority of my readers. But some simply can’t afford the monthly cost for their premium membership.
Therefore, I recommend alternatives such as Hostgator, SiteGround, or BlueHost. They are all web hosting service providers that allows you to host and build your very own WordPress blog. The only thing they lack is training on affiliate marketing as well as certain tools that you’ll have to pay extra for elsewhere.
There are many top bloggers that offers FREE WordPress Installation Services. All you have to do as a reader is to sign up through their affiliate link and they will set it up for you.
Usually, they will also include bonuses such as plugins or themes to make it more enticing.
To be completely honest, they are not doing it completely from the kindness of their heart. They are making money through affiliate commissions when you sign up through them. (myself included).
It’s truly a win-win situation because you can get your blog set up and ready to go and they’ll earn a small commission for their effort.
#7. Flip WordPress Websites
There are lots of people in the market for pre-developed websites. All you have to do is, choose a specific niche theme, purchase a domain name, set up the WordPress website, and install themes & plugins.—Once everything is complete, you can sell it to websites like Flippa for a profit.
#8. WordPress Product Tester
If you’re already an expert WordPress user or should I say… Guru… it might not be a bad idea to review plugins, themes, and other products that are related to WordPress.
You can also use your product reviews to build a relationship with the developers for future business opportunities such as sponsorship.
In Conclusion
WordPress is one of the most popular platforms when it comes to building websites and the opportunities to make money is limitless. What you can do with any of the above is up to you!
If you are interested in starting a blog or learning more about WordPress. I highly recommend checking out Wealthy Affiliate. They offer a free membership plan that allows you to build 2 free WordPress websites.
The only drawback is that you can’t purchase and use your own domain name. You will have to use their subdomain which is not ideal.
But at least it gives you a chance to try it out before making a commitment to blogging or doing anything related to WordPress.
