The money is in the list! Email marketing is a great method to get customers who are interested in what you offer to make a purchase now or in the future. It’s also a great way to build a relationship with your readers. Do you want to learn how to build an email list?
Besides the typical hit and run affiliate marketing model, email marketing is an essential part of your marketing strategy if you want to build a profitable business online.
Email marketing is one of the best ways to promote products online because it’s easier to market to existing customers rather than trying to gain new customers. Here are some advantages of email marketing:
- Low Cost: Email marketing is not free, but it’s not expensive either. After someone opts-in to your email list, you will be able to communicate with that person over and over again.
- Auto-Responses: With a good email marketing provider like AWeber, you can now automate some of your campaigns. Once you set it up, you can pretty much leave your email marketing on auto-pilot.
- Emails Are Instant: Unlike conventional mail, emails are instant. When you have a special offer or promotion, you can reach out to thousands or even millions of subscribers with a single click of a button.
- Tracking Results: Most email marketing provider includes tracking analytics, so you can see exactly what is working and what is not. This is something you can’t do through conventional mail.
Although, email marketing is a method many businesses and affiliate marketers use. It is still far from perfect and here’s why:
- Delivery Rates: Spam is something we all frown upon and most email providers are taking precaution to protect their users from spam mail. Therefore, not all of your emails will get delivered.
Why It’s Important To Build Your Email List
Unlike Social Media, YouTube, Google, etc. Your email list is your customer base and nobody can take it away from you. Earlier today, I was listening to a YouTube video in regards to a veteran marketer getting banned from Google. His organic traffic dropped like flies, but guess what?
That didn’t destroy his business because he has his own email list. Instead of relying on Google and other search engines to generate traffic, he sent out emails to market to people who have already opt-in to his list. Thanks to his list, his business survived and the search engines have given him a second chance as well.
How To Build An Email List With AWeber
As you can see, judging by the title of this article. I will be teaching you how to build an email list with AWeber. You can definitely choose any other email marketing provider. I am just recommending AWeber because it’s what I use.
From experience, I learned that you really can’t go cheap on email marketing providers because you’ll have to do double the work when you decide to switch carriers in the future. Also, reputable email marketing providers have a higher delivery rate.
Right now, AWeber is offering a 30 days free trial for new customers. During your 30 day trial, you will have full unrestricted access to AWeber. Afterward, if you decide to cancel, you can do it hassle-free.
Step #1. Create Your Account And Log In: First, you need to sign up for the 30 days free trial on AWeber. Once you’re done, make sure you check your email address to finish confirmation.
Step #2. Create A Lead Capture Page: Before you can collect leads, you’ll need to have a lead capture page. It’s basically a single page on your website designed to collect emails and build your list. If you’re new to this, you can learn how to create a landing page here.
With a landing page, your readers can decide for themselves whether or not they want to opt-in to your email list. This is what makes email marketing so powerful. You are only going to capture the information of people who are highly interested in your offers.
Step #3. Create A Sign-Up Form: Once you’re done setting up your lead capture page, you should head back to AWeber and click “Sign Up Forms”. If you’re not sure where that is, please take a look at the picture below.
Step #4. Create A Sign-Up Form: Next, you’ll be taken to a page where it will display all of your signup forms including conversion rates. If you don’t have one yet, simply click on the green button that says “create a signup form”.
Note: AWeber offers their own templates and designs. In all honesty, they look pretty darn ugly, but it works!
Tip: You can also use tools like LeadPages or ClickFunnels to create your lead capture pages. Personally, I prefer ClickFunnels over LeadPages simply because it offers more than just capture page creation. However, LeadPages is less expensive!
Time To Build Your Email List
Now that you have your email marketing service all set up. It is now time to start building your email list. There are many ways to build your email list and I will explain each of these methods individually.
Blog Comments: You can include an opt-in checkbox for people who want to opt-in to your mailers list while leaving a comment. This is very effective because most of your readers find it super convenience. Since they are required to enter their name and email address anyway when leaving comments. To learn more about this, please click here.
Solo Ads: One of the most popular ways to build an email list is through solo ads. Basically, what you want to do is to find a solo ad offer that is relevant to your niche. By offering to pay them a set fee, you’ll be able to leverage their email list in order to build your own. Prices are usually set amount of clicks.— Not all providers are created equal. Do find one that contains high-quality leads, not just a list of random people.
YouTube Videos: Besides text content, video content is extremely popular. If you are not camera shy like I am, you can provide value through videos for your audience. In return, you can include a link back to your lead capture page in the video description.
Social Media: With millions of active users on Social Media daily. It’s a great place to build your email list such as creating a fan page for your business or sharing content that also pitches the lead capture page. However, you must be careful with what you post because you don’t want to get reported as a spammer.
