Today, I want to talk about a reader’s email that was submitted to me a couple of days ago. In the email, the reader wrote, “You have a beautiful website/blog! I wish to have a website/blog like yours one day.”
First of all, I really appreciate kind emails as such. And I also would like to take this as an opportunity to write something motivational.
You see, my blog wasn’t always like this. It started with a regular freemium WordPress theme with the notorious “Just another WordPress Site.”
Now that I think about it, I was in that reader’s shoe not too long ago!
I’m sure we’ve all felt that way in our life when we see someone successful and wish to be just like that person one day. Well, it can be done if you’re willing to put in the work.
My Blogging Journey Started From Zero
I wanted to start a blog and learn how to make money online all the way back in 2009. Unfortunately, during that time, I was intimidated by other people’s websites/blogs. I didn’t think I would ever be able to achieve the same level of success as they have.
Fast forward, 2018 changed my entire perspective. I created my first blog thanks to Wealthy Affiliate. Even to this day, I still endorse them and recommend them to anyone who wants to start a blog.

Success Is A Progress From Failure
When I first started my blog, I made a lot of mistakes. My mentality was different from when I first started. I thought I was perfect from the moment I launched my blog. The point is, I wanted to be successful right away!
A few weeks later, I learned an important lesson and that is, you have to fail in order to succeed. If you’re not open to failure, you will never see progress.
Fortunately for me, I joined a very helpful community. There, I received constructive criticism on my theme as well as my blog posts.
Believe it or not, my first website/blog was based on helping people quit cigarettes. But I quickly abandoned that website after realizing it wasn’t for me.
Although my first website didn’t succeed. It did provide me with the experience to start Smart Affiliate Hub.
It was through countless trials and errors that led me to where I am today. Even as I’m typing this article, I’m still looking at my blog as a work in progress.
You Just Have To Do It!
The truth is, we all start from zero and in my case, I was fortunate enough to start with a community of people who are also looking to succeed and blogging and making money online.
Looking back, my blog looked like absolute garbage and my content was mediocre at best. However, if I never started, I wouldn’t have improved and made it better.
The point is, you just have to do it! Sure, your blog will not look anything like mine from the start, but you wouldn’t have a blog at all if you don’t do it.
You Will Improve Through Failure
Similar to anything in life. The more you do it, the better you become. I learned this lesson during the time when I was learning how to ride a bicycle.
Today, I am able to ride a bicycle from where I live to the Downtown of San Francisco. At first, I could barely get past the first block of my neighborhood without falling.
Failure is not fun at all, but if I gave up, today I wouldn’t be able to ride a bicycle from where I live to Downtown of San Francisco right? Because I didn’t give up and learned from the failures, I am now a decent bicyclist.
The same applies to my blog. My blog is not the most attractive or organized blog in the world, but if I gave up, I wouldn’t have the improved version of my blog today.
