Have you ever searched the internet for solutions, only to find a blog that’s completely unreadable? I have and that’s one of the biggest reasons why most blogs don’t succeed. After all, the purpose of a blog is for people to read, so if it’s unreadable, then what’s the point of having that blog?
Also, most readers don’t have time to waste. What they want is for you to get to the point. There are things that you can do that allows your readers to skim through and get straight to the point.
Here are ways to structure your blog to help your readers get straight to the point:
- Use bullet points like this.
- Use numbers to list things in numerical order.
- Shorten your paragraphs to make it more readable.
- Use headings and subheadings to divide points.
- Use bold text to grab your readers attention to specifics.
As you can see, the above methods are great ways to help your readers get straight to the point. Today, I am going to provide you with ONE more strategy. It’s not only going to provide your readers with the answers they’re seeking but at a very fast rate.
Use Bold Text For The Main Points
Bold texts are great for capturing your reader’s attention. If done properly, it will also allow your readers to skim through without wasting their time.
I am going to provide you with a small example below: Read it and tell me if you understand what I’m trying to convey.
Johnson, a hard-working average American, lives in a farmhouse with his wife and their 3 lovely children.
Every morning his kids would ask him, what time would he come home.
Knowing that his kids would be unhappy, he would tell them very soon.
Johnson doesn’t want to lie to his kids anymore. He wants to spend more time with his family.
Are you tired of working the regular 9 to 5 job? Are you tired of trading your time away from your kids to earn a living?
For the past 5 years, he worked long hours and his kids are starting to lose interest in him. They no longer ask what time he would come home.

My Point: As you can see, if you read the bold sentences only, you’ll understand exactly what message I am trying to deliver. By doing so, you should be saving lots of time from reading.
That was a short passage, but you should apply the same concept to your blog posts and emails. Write them in a way that allows your readers to either read the entire article or skim through the content.
Here’s an example of what you shouldn’t do:
