What Is Opinion Outpost And How It Works!
Click here to sign up for your Opinion Outpost account (completely free). Before you can take any survey, you are asked to answer a series of questions.
The purpose is to improve your survey-taking experience which also increases your earning potential. After you sign up and completed your profile, you will be directed to your dashboard where it displays your points.
I’ve reviewed other Survey providers before and Opinion Outpost is one of the few that has a clean dashboard with easy-to-understand action buttons.
Once you click the “Take Survey” button, you will be asked to answer a few more questions before the actual survey begins. It will display how many points you can potentially earn and how long the survey should take.—My first survey paid 10 points for 15 minutes of work!
The surveys will vary, sometimes Opinion Outpost will have you log in to Netflix and answer questions or provide feedback on advertisements.
You Must Qualify To Complete A Survey
To provide accurate data to companies, there will be times when you don’t qualify for a particular survey. This can be quite frustrating especially if you’ve spent a few minutes into the survey just to realize that you can’t proceed.
Thankfully, whenever you get disqualified for a survey, Opinion Outpost will submit an entry for you into a quarterly prize drawing with the chance to win $10,000.
I’ve only completed a few surveys so far and my success rate is around 3 out of 5. This will differ from person to person based on the answers that you provide them with.
Redeem Your Points For Prizes!
This is probably the most important part of doing online surveys. I’m sure most people wouldn’t do online surveys for free especially since it requires a good amount of time.
Note: You must be 18 years or older to participate in Opinion Outpost.
After completing the surveys, you will be rewarded with points. Opinion Outpost provides you with a few ways to redeem your points:
- PayPal: You must have a verified PayPal account to use this method. For every 100 points, you can redeem for $10.00. Minimum payout threshold = 100 points.
- MileagePlus Miles: Want to fly with United Airlines? You can redeem your points for miles. 105 points = 300 award miles. 175 points = 500 award miles. 350 points = 1000 award miles.
- Prize Draw Entries: 1 point = 1 entry. Enter for a chance to win $10,000. One winner is chosen every quarter. Good luck!
- Alawar: Redeem points for Alawar Gift ID. 30 points = 1 Alawar PC Game Online Gift ID.
- Amazon Points: Redeem 50 points for a $5.00 Amazon gift card. Minimum payout threshold = 50 points.
- iTunes Gift Card: Redeem 100 points for a $10.00 iTunes gift card. Minimum payout threshold = 100 points.
- American Red Cross: Donate to the American Red Cross! 5 points = $0.50.
Personally, I like to use PayPal as the payout method. It takes a while especially if you’re like me. I only complete a survey once in a while, but the points will stack up over time.
My Final Thoughts
Opinion Outpost is definitely legitimate, but not an ideal way to earn a sustainable income. Similar to a regular job, you are trading hours for dollars. If you are okay with spending hours of your day completing surveys, then Opinion Outpost is definitely for you!
Unlike other survey sites that I’ve tried in the past, the success rate for qualification is decently high. Again even if you don’t qualify, at least you can hope to win the $10,000 quarterly prize draw.
Also, use a throwaway email when signing up for survey websites, so you don’t get clustered with emails requesting you to complete surveys.
Note: There are some complaints from users who claim that Opinion Outpost froze their account for no apparent reason. If this has happened to you before, please leave a comment below explaining what happened.—Do take this with a light grain of salt though because I don’t believe a big survey provider like Opinion Outpost would screw you over a few dollars when they can earn much more from you taking the surveys.
