Do you own a blog and would like to learn how to increase your blogging income? Trust me, you’re not alone on this one. Blogging can be recreational, but many are treating their blog as a real business.

I’m sure you’ve explored other blog posts relating to this topic and you’re just not finding the solution that you’re seeking.

It’s frustrating, but what makes blogging so difficult these days? It’s simple, the word is competition.

Unlike the beginning of the internet era, more and more people are joining the blogging world. Big companies are spending buckets of gold on SEO to dominate the top search engine results page.

However, that doesn’t mean all hopes lost. 

You can still do well by utilizing email marketing, social media marketing, and content marketing to bring back repeat visitors.

In this article, I am going to show you how to increase your blogging income the right way! Without further ado, let’s get started.

Set A Goal For Blog

Before we get started with the methods, I want you to set a goal for your blog. Without a goal, you have no plan. Without a plan, you won’t know if you’re improving over time.

And remember, it’s okay to fail! Failure is what pushes you to change and do better. The following are some key points that I want you to keep in mind when setting your goals:

#1: Be Realistic: Your goals need to be realistic, not too easy, but achievable. Goals such as making more money than Elon Musk is not realistic and not very achievable.

#2: Be Specific: You want to be as specific as possible for each goal. Even if it’s a long term goal, you can always create short term goals to reach it.

#3: Set a Date: You want to set a date for yourself as to when you want to achieve each goal.

#4: Make sure it’s Measurable: If your goal is to achieve a certain amount of daily visitors, you want to set a number of daily visitors by a set date.

How To Increase Your Blogging Income

There are many ways to increase your blogging income. I am only going to mention the ones that I find are very effective.

Affiliate Marketing

I know, this one again right?

Whether you’re new or have ventured in the blogging industry. You might’ve heard about affiliate marketing.

Heck, you’ve probably tried affiliate marketing before and failed.

But believe it or not, all successful affiliate marketers started from zero. They learned from their mistakes and adapted to the changes.

In a nutshell, affiliate marketing is simply promoting products and services from other companies and getting paid a commission when a referral buys.

Your approach might’ve been incorrect. Here are a few common mistakes that newbies make in affiliate marketing:

  • A website that appears to be spammy with banners everywhere.
  • Promoting everything and anything.
  • Not gaining subscribers for repeat business.
  • Operating a poor quality and slow website.
  • Not tracking your website performance.

Here are some ways to help you earn more affiliate marketing commissions!

Product Reviews:

Keep in mind, when people do product or service research online. They are doing so to better understand the product or service.

When trying to promote a product or service, you must first understand the product and service yourself. That’s how you provide value and help your visitors make an informative decision to buy.

Here are the steps that I recommend you take:

  • Purchase a copy of the product: If you can’t afford it, simply ask the developers to provide you with a demo version. If they don’t allow it, then simply buy it. After all, it takes money to make money.
  • Use the product: By using the product, you will understand the product from a customer’s point of view. This will help you provide better insight for your visitors.
  • Provide your thoughts on the product: Now that you’ve used the product, you can provide your thoughts and results. Be prepared to point out the pros and cons.
  • Provide How To’s: If the product provided you with positive results. Show your visitors how they can get similar results. There’s no need if the product provides negative results because you shouldn’t be recommending them anyway.

By following the steps above, you will slowly become an authority to your visitors. They will start to see you as the go-to person in your niche and will more likely purchase your list of recommended products.

Problem Solving:

The internet is a commonplace to search for solutions. Whether it is to learn how to make money online or things like how to lose weight without killing yourself.

Most people would rather take a weight loss course at home instead of visiting the gym. It’s time and cost-efficient if it could be done at home.
The whole idea is to become a problem solver for your visitors.
Offer Sponsorships:

I’ve seen popular bloggers/affiliate marketers who offer advertisement spaces on their blog for a price. This depends on several factors:

  • The popularity of your blog.
  • Where your traffic comes from.
  • Your website authority.
  • Your overall brand.

It’s simple, the more awareness you can deliver, the more money people are willing to pay you. It’s a concept that’s been around for years.

Big companies like Google and Facebook are offering advertisement space for a cost. You can do it too if you are big enough.

You can use plugins like OiOpublisher to sell advertisement space right on your WordPress blog. Through this plugin, you can charge a price and for how many days.

Sponsored Product And Service Reviews:

The same can be done with product and service reviews. This is often negotiated between the developers and the blog owner. Sometimes a developer will offer you money for link juice or write about their product.

Personally, I have not accepted any form of money for sponsored reviews. I receive these requests regularly. I just can’t accept the fact that I’ll be biased about the product solely to make money. However, that’s your decision to make, not mine.

My Final Thoughts

There are many ways to make money online and through blogging. You just have to be creative and treat your blog as a real business.

After all, you are targeting real people who are looking to spend their money.

Any business can fail if approached the wrong way. The above methods are not the key to success. How you approach the methods above will determine that.
