As lucrative as it is, to make money online. It is also one of the most competitive markets in the world. Anyone can become a blogger, so it’s not surprising to find thousands of similar websites marketing the same type of content to the same people over and over again.
For example, if you go to Twitter and search for how to make money online. You’ll find an ever-growing list of people promoting the same thing.
In order to stay on top of your competition, you should be able to grab your readers’ attention. You want your readers to see your content and say, “Wow! I need to read this!”
In this article, I will help you sharpen your pencil and refine your skills, so you can attract your readers before your competition does. Are you ready? Good, put on your swimming gear and let’s dive right into it.
Leverage Social Media
I’ve talked about this at least half a dozen if not more times by now throughout my other articles. Just in case you are unaware, Social Media continues to grow year after year. By now, anyone with internet access or a smartphone should be a part of some sort of Social Media like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Tumblr, EricStagram (Just kidding), etc.
You can find people from almost any type of niche, so it’s very important that you have some sort of Social Media presence the moment you decide to launch your online business.
This is especially important for those who just got started because chances are, you’re not going to have a large enough bank for pay-per-click campaigns, nor will you have the authority to rank well on search engines like Google.
Social Media is absolutely free for anyone to join and it allows you to share your content with millions of people around the world.—A great way to get massive traffic!
Before you get started, you need to understand that, unlike blogs. Social Media is a platform that loves the use of images and videos. If you want to attract people to your blog, you must learn to create images that catch their attention.
A regular stick figure art will hardly do the job. What you need are pictures that are relevant to your content as well as aesthetically pleasing. Let’s use memes, for example, they work great because the pictures used are relevant to the text and it catches the attention of its audience.
Once you’ve decided the picture that you would like to use, the next step is to add a detailed description with proper hashtags to ensure that it reaches the right people.
Offer An Incentive
Do you like free stuff? I know I do and I’m sure most people do as well. It doesn’t even have to be free, as long as it provides some sort of incentive, people will come.
Yesterday, I was over at Costco with my mother. She was asking me how come Costco can afford to sell their hot dogs and pizzas for so cheap. It’s a very interesting question, but being an internet marketer, I knew exactly what Costco is doing.
First of all, a full-sized pizza cost around $10.00 and a hot dog which includes a soda cost around $1.50. That’s a bargain, isn’t it? Well, to Costco, they are not trying to make money in their food concession. They are offering an irresistible deal to bring in customers, so they would buy their products inside their warehouse.—That’s where they make their money back plus more. Trust me, you’re not going to travel to Costco just for hot dog and pizza.
On the internet, it is much easier to provide incentives to your readers as soon as they arrive on your website. Here on Smart Affiliate Hub, I provide my readers with a FREE eBook in exchange for their contact information. Keep in mind, I don’t spam my readers. I only provide more information to help them on their journey to making money online.
What you do is completely on you. For example, there are websites who offer discounts in exchange for their email address. This is a great marketing strategy because you can then provide more incentives for your subscribers to come back at a later date.
Are You Catering To Everyone In The World
It is safe to assume that not everyone in the world can speak English and that’s why it’s important to utilize visual marketing as well as other means to increase user engagement. You see, pictures and videos are somewhat universal. It gives a good enough idea of what you’re talking about.
I remember showing my website to friends from Asia and that’s when I realized that there is a problem. They can’t read my text, so they wouldn’t be able to take action even if they wanted to.
By applying visuals and the ability to translate your text to their desired language. You will be able to market to any readers around the world without the language barrier.
My Final Thoughts
Nothing is perfect, so test different things out and see what does a better job of grabbing your readers attention. I also survey my readers via Email to see what they would like me to improve on.
The more I know about my readers, the better I become at grabbing their attention compared to my competitors. Whatever they do, I try to do 10x better. Sometimes I succeed and sometimes I fail.
Keep in mind, your blog is not designed for yourself. It is designed for your readers, so create one that delivers the best possible experience for your readers.
