Getting through EDD to claim your unemployment benefit can be a struggle these days especially with what’s going on in the world. Whether you have a question or need help filing for your unemployment benefits, you’ll have to get in touch with EDD somehow.
However, getting in touch with a live agent from EDD can be a challenging task. Often times, you’ll be spending hours before talking to someone. I’ve been helping my mother, aunt, and uncles with their claims recently and I discovered a great method to get in touch with someone without having to spend hours at a time.
Now I am only going over this method for the State of California. I’m not sure if it’s the same for other states, but you can always investigate on your own.

Before you can continue with this method, you must have an already registered account with EDD. Simply file for unemployment, wait for your EDD Customer Account Number in the mail.
Simply select the category and topic that meets your needs. For example, let’s say you’re payment is stuck on pending for days.
By selecting the right options, you can now ask a question. In the question box, you can ask anything that you’re concerned about. Keep in mind, due to the share volume of requests, it’s going to take a few days for a response. But you will get a response.
