After MySpace, I never thought Facebook would be as successful as it is today. In all honesty, when I transitioned from MySpace to Facebook, it was simply to connect with my friends and family. Little did I know that Facebook is going to change the way we do business online.

Facebook has revolutionized how people interact with each other including businesses. With Facebook, you can now take your business to the next level by sharing it on Facebook and have it reach millions of people all over the world. It’s a great place to get your name out there and it’s absolutely free (as long as you don’t pay for advertisement).

However, many people are still not utilizing the tools of Facebook the right way and they’re leaving lots of money on the table. It’s almost like having Google Analytics, but not knowing how to use it to scale their business.

In this article, I will be going over 5 Facebook tools that you can utilize today to increase traffic to your online business. Without further ado, let’s dive right into it!

Tool #1. Facebook Fan Page

As long as you have a Facebook account, you should have no problem setting up a fan page and most importantly, it’s free! It’s a great way to build a community outside of your business.

With a fan page, you can post updates such as content, promotions, discount codes, etc. If you take a look at all major companies, they all have one thing in common. They’re utilizing the power of having a Facebook fan page.

If you don’t have a fan page yet, that’s okay! Follow the link above and you’ll have a Facebook fan page created in minutes! Make sure you include a link or an icon in your blog or website, so your current readers can find your fan page!

Tip: To quickly increase your fan page likes and follower count. You can start a contest where people will have to follow and like your fan page in order to claim their free gift. This can be anything such as a coupon code for a product of yours!

Tool #2. Facebook Places (Create A Facebook Business Page)

Similar to Yelp, Facebook places enables people to check in. This was originally designed as shits and giggles to let people in your inner circle know if you’re both in the same location.

When someone checks in to your business, their friends will be able to see his or her current location. This is a great way to gain brand awareness! Create your Facebook business page to take advantage of this check-in feature for Facebook Places!

Tip: Similar to promoting your Facebook Fan page, you can also promote your business page by offering an incentive for people to check it. It’s a common strategy that Yelp business owners use to increase awareness.

Tool #3. Facebook Events

Facebook events is a great tool to spread the word of an upcoming event hosted by you or somebody else. Over time, if you have lots of followers, you can reach thousands of people in a short amount of time.

Whether you’re an online or offline business, you can make great use of this tool. Here are some examples I have for you for both offline and online use:

  • Offline Business: Promote your grand opening by offering special incentives for your Facebook attendees through an exclusive discount code. By offering this incentive, those who sign up are probably going to share it with their friends and family to take advantage of this opportunity.
  • Online Business: Promote your online business through a webinar. This will enable you to educate your potential audience what your business is about. It’s also a great opportunity to promote your products and services. Obviously, to entice people to sign up, you’ll have to offer an incentive as well. Similar to offline businesses, you too can also offer exclusive coupon codes for those who attend your webinar.

These events work very well because it’s a great way to not only increase brand awareness but to also build a relationship with your customers. Click here to create your event today!

Tool #4. Add Social Media Plugins

I don’t really have a preferred Social Media plugin, but I firmly believe that every online business should have this tool. Social Media Plugins will enable you to add buttons to your website.

Nobody has time to copy and paste your link on their Social Media platforms. By having buttons on your website, visitors are more likely to share your content because it’s just easier and more convenient. You never know who your customers know! One might have millions of followers on their Social profiles and that’s potentially 100s of thousands of potential customers generated from just one person.

If you take a look at the bottom of my page. There are some social share buttons. Please do share this article if you find it helpful. ????Ps. I know I need to find another social plugin that stands out more… let me know if you have a recommended one (even if it’s an affiliate link).

Tool #5. Facebook Advertising

I’m a cheapskate and don’t like to spend money if I don’t have to. That’s why I focus a lot of content marketing because it drives traffic organically (free) to my blog. However, if you’re looking to get traffic to your business faster, Facebook advertising is one of the fastest ways to promote it.

Tips: Don’t rely heavily on Facebook advertisement unless you have a large budget. If it’s your only source of traffic, what do you think will happen once you stop paying for ads?

With Facebook advertising, you can set up campaigns that direct traffic to your blog. Basically, you are leveraging the traffic of Facebook, not just your inner circle.

When you set up your Facebook campaigns, make sure you filter your audience (Countries, Behavior, Interest, Connections, etc). This ensures that the traffic you generate is targeted. After all, it’s not just about getting traffic, it’s about conversion. A customer that doesn’t buy will not do you any good.

In Conclusion

Hope this helps you scale your business through Facebook! Don’t just focus on Facebook, but instead. Diversify your marketing approach to reach a larger number of audience. Not every Social Media platform comes with the tools that Facebook provides. However, you can apply the same idea and concept on most Social Media platforms.
