Do you want to make passive income from your blog? During the infant stage of your blog, branding might not have crossed your mind. However, as your blog gets bigger, it is important to start branding it. You see, regardless of industry, competition is inevitable.

In fact, there are over 60+ million blogs in the world and the number is constantly going up. So what makes you stand out? What makes you different? When you create your own brand, you’ll have a huge advantage over the ones that are not branded.

Here’s an example. You and Apple both manufacturers the same type of phones. As a matter of fact, both of you use the same factory and material. However, you’re a nameless brand, so who gets all the publicity? Apple of course!

The moral of the story is that you don’t want to be brand less! Brand your blog and you will be much more successful. In this article, I will go over some brand building tips to help you get started. Without further ado, let’s dive right in!

Branding Tip #1: Purchase Your Own Domain Name

I am shocked by the fact that lots of people are still using free domains. Can you imagine if Apple operates on a website called, “apple.blogspot.com?” (If this is your blog, I didn’t mean to offend you).

If you are still using free services like Blogspot.com or WordPress.com, you need to take action now. Running a blog is not as expensive as you think. You can register a domain name for around $15.00 per year. That’s roughly $0.04 per day! Website hosting services will cost you as low as $3.95 per month. That’s roughly $0.13 per day!

If you want to learn how to run a successful blog and make money online, you can sign up for my All-in-One platform. It will cost you a bit more than your average website hosting service, but it comes with keyword research tools (helps you rank high on search engines), webinars, classrooms, coaches, training, plus more. The cost is $49.00 per month. That’s roughly $1.63 per day!—Click here to learn more.

When you use subdomains, you are building the brand for the hosting company, not for yourself. If you signed up for my All-in-One platform, you are provided with 2 free websites with the subdomain. Try it out and see if it’s for you. You can always purchase a domain after and transfer the free websites to the new domain.

Branding Tip #2. Create Your Own Logo

A logo is a great brand building tool! Look at Apple for example. As soon as you see their Logo, you’ll know instantly that it is made by Apple. With that being said, you should look into creating your own logo or maybe paying someone to do it for you. Once you’re more established in your industry, people will start recognizing you just by seeing your logo.

Branding Tip #3. Create An About Page

Did you know that your About Page is one of the places your visitors will go to the most? That’s because they want to know who you are and what you have to offer. Therefore, you need to view your about page as a resume. Let your readers know why they should check out your website, read your blogs, and come back later.

When I was checking out other blogs, I notice a common mistake that most people make. They forget to include an image of themselves. Don’t be shy and let your readers see who is behind the screen. It will help build trust and trust is what builds a brand. I wrote an article on how to improve your blog. It contains information on how to create a powerful about page.—Click here to check it out!

Branding Tip #4. Get A Premium Blog Design

As much as I enjoyed using freemium themes in the beginning. I knew I would have to eventually invest money into getting a premium theme that is customizable.—Fortunately, premium themes are not very expensive.

When you’re competing with millions of other blogs out there. Your blog design should stand out and be as unique as possible. Currently, I am running the Genesis Framework with Mai Lifestyle Pro as the child theme. Instead of using it as is, I customized it by changing the colors, creating a unique Homepage, etc.

If you have money to spare, I would look into creating a completely new blog design using a service called, Unique Blog Design. This will allow you to create a website that stands out because you won’t find duplicates out there. Imagine standing in a crowd with millions of people. What makes you stand out?

Branding Tip #5. Create Promotional Products

Promotional products are great for branding your website. I’ve seen people walk around with branded t-shirts made for their blog. Once you build a readership, you can give those t-shirts away for free or offer them for sale. The more people wear it, the more exposure you get.

Are you thinking about creating business cards? Forget it, go write a book and give those away at LIVE events. Let’s say someone hands you a business card or a book they wrote. Which one do you think is more powerful? You guessed it… the business card will go straight to the trash bin.

In Conclusion

There are many great benefits to branding your blog. One of which is free publicity. When a potential sponsor seeks for someone in your industry. Who do you think they are more likely to sponsor. One that is branded and known or an unbranded blog?

Hopefully, this article has helped change your insight on how to run a blog and how you can be more successful as a blogger or internet marketer. If you have something to add to my list of tips, please leave them in the comment section below.
